A natural sapphire of 6.53 carats in an oval mixed cut — a genuinely large stone, well above the size at which fine sapphire becomes scarce. The colour is a deep teal, dark and serious in tone, with flashes of emerald green and electric blue opening across the crown as the stone moves. It is free of visible inclusions, which at this size is uncommon. Reported by IGI as natural corundum with indications of heating — the standard and universally accepted treatment for sapphire.
