Teal Sapphire

Gemologist’s Note
An unheated natural sapphire of 5.28 carats, with an IGI report showing no indications of heating — a significant distinction, as the overwhelming majority of sapphires on the market are heat-treated. The stone is bicolor, shifting between deep teal-blue and rich green depending on how the light strikes it, with flashes of vivid emerald green breaking across the crown. It is exceptionally clean — loupe clean despite its depth of tone — and cut as a cushion mixed cut that holds the color well. A large, untreated, bicolor sapphire in the teal-green range that has become one of the most sought-after looks in coloured stones.
