This substantial 7.06 carat round-cut tourmaline hails from Kunar Province, Afghanistan, whose pegmatite fields are known for producing exceptional green and bi-colored tourmaline alongside the region's famous kunzite and aquamarine. The color is a striking polychrome green shifting toward yellow-olive toward the crown, with the deeper, richer green concentrated through the body of the stone – a natural color zoning rather than a flaw, giving the stone real visual movement as it's turned. The Russian round brilliant faceting is precise and even, with clean, symmetrical facet junctions that handle the color zoning well, directing light through both zones without creating dead spots. Clarity is excellent, with the stone reading clean to the eye and showing outstanding transparency for a stone of this size.
