Sapphire

Gemologist’s Note
At nearly 14 carats, most sapphires this size are cut deep and lumpy — the cutter fights to hold every point of weight, and symmetry is the first thing sacrificed. This one is the exception, and that's before you get to the fact that it's completely unheated. A stone this large is already scarce; unheated at this size is scarcer still; and unheated, this large, and cut with this many facets in true symmetry is a combination you almost never see — because whoever cut it chose to make it perform rather than simply preserve weight. The result is a soft pastel light blue, gentle and luminous, with crisp, even light return across the whole face. It reads as classic Ceylon material, and TGL confirms no evidence of heat. This is not a stone that survived the cutting wheel — it's one that was honored by it.
