Sapphire

Gemologist’s Note
A bright, fresh mint-green sapphire in a graceful pear shape, light and luminous in tone. In person the stone is clear and sparkling: its lighter body lets light pass through freely, so the whole face glows a cool, airy green while crisp flashes scatter from the crown with every movement. The proportions give it a generous face-up size for its weight, and the color carries evenly from the rounded end to the point. It is eye clean, so the soft green reads pure and uninterrupted. IGI has examined the stone and reports indications of heating, a traditional and stable treatment in sapphire; the color is permanent.
