A deep, saturated teal sapphire in a neat, symmetrical pear, with juicy green and bright blue woven together through the stone. In person it is rich and lively: the darker body gives the color weight and intensity, while vivid blue and green sparks flare across the face as it moves, keeping the depth of tone full of energy. The faceting is precise and returns light well, with no pale or empty center. Face-up the stone appears clean, its brilliance carrying the eye cleanly across the surface. IGI has examined it and reports indications of heating, a traditional and stable treatment in sapphire; the color is permanent.
