Sapphire

Gemologist’s Note
A natural sapphire of substantial 9.57 carats in an oval mixed cut — a weight rarely seen in a single stone. The color is a deep blue-green, the teal range that has become increasingly sought after in recent years. The stone is heavily included with natural silk: fine intersecting needles that run through the material in sweeping bands, giving it a soft internal sheen and reading as the unmistakable signature of a genuine, earth-mined sapphire. Reported by the Chanthaburi Gemological Laboratory as natural sapphire, with indications of heating — the standard and accepted treatment for the vast majority of sapphires on the market.
