This 1.58 carat cushion-cut sapphire comes from Sri Lanka. The color is a bright cornflower blue, well saturated and even across most of the stone. A distinctive patchy, snakeskin-like inclusion pattern is visible toward the center, catching the light with a soft, textured sheen rather than sitting as a clean, transparent zone. Aside from this feature, the stone reads bright and blue overall. The color owes its full expression to heat treatment.
