This 1.58 carat oval-cut sapphire is a product of Chanthaburi, Thailand. The color is an unusual, complex steel blue with soft grayish and green undertones running through it – a muted, sophisticated tone rather than a straightforward pure blue, shifting subtly as the stone catches light from different angles. Clarity is excellent, with the stone reading clean to the eye and showing strong transparency throughout. At 1.58 carats it has good presence, and in hand it's genuinely lively, with bright, even brilliance returning across the whole oval. The color owes its full expression to heat treatment.
