Russian Sapphire

Gemologist’s Note
Sutara is known for green — soft yellow-greens, deep bottle-greens, the occasional blue-green. Blue is a different matter entirely. Across everything this deposit has ever produced, true blue sapphire counts on one hand, and this rectangular step-cut is one of them. The color leans a cool greenish-blue, dense and even through the table, with the long open windows of a step cut doing what they do best: showing the stone's true tone without a single facet working to flatter it. Note the report itself — where the rest of this collection reads "Green Sapphire," this one reads simply "Sapphire." If the green stones from this source are rare, the blue ones are close to nonexistent.
