This 1.385 ct Russian demantoid garnet from the Korkodino deposit in the Ural Mountains is a rare natural bicolor demantoid with a symmetrical four-zone color pattern. Face-up, the north and south sectors glow a vivid, saturated green that edges toward neon. The east and west sectors answer in a bright yellowish olive green. Each pair of opposite zones mirrors the other, forming a balanced cross-like geometry that shifts as the stone moves. Color zoning this clean and symmetrical is seldom seen in Ural demantoid at this size, and almost never in such bright, lively tones. At the center sits a beautifully developed horsetail inclusion: fine golden fibers radiating from a single point, the classic signature of Russian demantoid and a hallmark of natural origin. The round brilliant is Russian cut, measuring 6.80 × 6.80 × 4.18 mm. Its well-balanced proportions deliver strong brilliance and the fire demantoid is famous for, since its dispersion exceeds that of diamond. In person the stone is bright and highly lively, with flashes of spectral color rolling across the crown at every turn. It is natural and untreated, confirmed by the Marianovich Gems Certificate of Authenticity. This is a collector-grade Ural demantoid and a rare investment gemstone, made for a bespoke ring or pendant where its two-tone pattern can be seen.
