Emerald

Gemologist’s Note
A large 3.39-carat Russian emerald, IGI-confirmed as Ural in origin, and a departure from the cooler Ural greens: this one is a vivid, warm grass-green — bright and lively, with none of the bluish tone, a fresh and openly green face. It's cut as a classic step-cut emerald shape, the cut most associated with the stone, its straight facets giving it clean, architectural lines. Its natural silk is the honest signature of a genuine beryl. Like nearly all emeralds it shows indications of clarity enhancement, the standard accepted treatment. A large Ural emerald with a bright, grassy green all its own and confirmed provenance.
