A Russian demantoid of 0.46 carats from the Poldnevskoye deposit, cut as a trillion — a shape rarely seen in this material, where the round brilliant dominates almost universally. The color is a bright, lively green with a distinct yellow undertone, giving it a lighter, almost citrus-lit quality next to the deeper greens typical of the deposit. The trillion cut suits the stone well, opening broad, flat facets that catch light in wide flashes rather than the tighter sparkle of a round — the dispersion reads as bold sweeps of color rather than pinpoints. A demantoid whose rarity is doubled: uncommon color, and cut in a shape collectors almost never get to see it in.
