A bright, two-toned sapphire in which fresh green and warm golden yellow share a single pear. In person the effect is lively and changeable: a cool green holds the center of the stone, while yellow gathers toward the edges and the tip, and as the stone turns the two colors drift across the face, with golden and green flashes breaking from the crown. The cut is well balanced, with no washed-out center, so both tones read clearly side by side. It is eye clean, keeping the color play crisp. IGI has examined the stone and reports indications of heating, a long-established and stable treatment in sapphire; its color is permanent.
