Sapphire

Gemologist’s Note
A bright, juicy green sapphire in a round cut, a shape seen far less often in colored sapphire than the usual oval. In person the stone is exceptionally lively: the round faceting spreads light evenly in every direction, so fresh green sparkle breaks across the whole face as it moves, with a warm, luminous glow at the center and deeper green toward the edges. The cut keeps it bright from every angle, with no pale or empty zone. It is eye clean, so the color reads clear and fresh. IGI has examined the stone and reports indications of heating, a traditional and stable treatment in sapphire; the color is permanent.
