Sapphire

Gemologist’s Note
Pear-cut sapphires are unforgiving on color placement — the taper toward the point tends to thin out saturation exactly where it’s most visible, leaving a washed-out tip even on otherwise strong stones. Not here: this one holds a full, vivid purple from the rounded crown straight through to the point, with no fade and no zoning. Eye clean, with strong, lively scintillation across the pear’s broad face. IGI confirms natural corundum with no indications of heating — full, even saturation like this in untreated purple sapphire is genuinely uncommon, since most of the deep, consistent purple material on the market has been heat-enhanced to get there. At 1.33 carats it reads bigger than its weight and cleaner than its rarity would suggest.
