A Russian demantoid of an extraordinary 5.04 carats — a size that is close to unheard of in Uralian material and firmly in collector territory. Cut as a round in the Russian style, and unusually well executed for a stone of this weight. The color is a warm olive green with golden tones, and the stone is exceptionally lively: flashes of orange, yellow and green fire break across the crown from every angle, showing off the dispersion that gives demantoid its name. Horsetail inclusions of byssolite are present, confirming its Uralian origin. A demantoid of remarkable size and fire, cut with real skill.
