Demantoid

Gemologist’s Note
This 0.790 ct Russian demantoid garnet from the Poldnevskoye deposit in the Ural Mountains is an inviting introduction to authentic Ural demantoid. It offers the color, character and provenance that define the species in a refined, wearable size. The green is juicy and saturated, a lush grassy tone with real depth that stays vibrant even in soft indoor light. Through the table runs a lovely horsetail, its fine fibers radiating from a bright point near the center like threads of light caught inside the crystal. This is the inclusion gemologists recognize as the hallmark of Russian demantoid. The stone also carries a warm reddish-brown natural inclusion near the edge, a small reminder that it is a genuine, untreated product of the Ural earth rather than a laboratory creation. The round brilliant is Russian cut, measuring 5.65 × 5.60 × 3.60 mm. Its well-balanced proportions keep the color rich while letting the stone come alive in motion, where crisp flashes of green and spectral fire play across the crown. It is natural and untreated, confirmed by the Marianovich Gems Certificate of Authenticity. Fine Poldnevskoye color, a classic horsetail and precise Russian cutting make this a beautiful natural demantoid for a delicate solitaire ring, stud earrings or a first piece in a Russian gemstone collection.
