This 1.955 carat oval-cut sapphire is a product of Chanthaburi, Thailand. The color is a deep, dark teal, rich and full-bodied across the whole face. Clarity is quite good, reading clean at normal viewing distance. The cut is notably flat and spread, with a face-up footprint of roughly 9.4 x 7.3 mm; this sapphire wears like a stone closer to 2.8-3 carats, considerably larger than its actual weight. In hand it's genuinely lively, with strong brilliance returning across the oval. The color owes its full expression to heat treatment.
