This 1.36 carat oval-cut sapphire is a product of Chanthaburi, Thailand. The color is a deep, rich teal, dark and saturated across the face. The cut is elongated and notably flat, with a face-up footprint of roughly 8.3 x 6.7 mm; this sapphire wears closer to 2.1-2.3 carats, reading substantially larger than its actual weight. Clarity is eye clean, and in hand it carries strong depth of color with good light return. The color owes its full expression to heat treatment.
