Aquamarine

Gemologist’s Note
A near-perfect square octagonal cut of remarkable scale – a proportion rarely attempted in aquamarine of this size, since square cutting sacrifices carat weight from the rough that a more conventional cushion or rectangle would retain. The choice speaks to the quality of the rough itself: only exceptional material justifies this kind of yield trade-off. Clarity is loupe clean, with no inclusions visible under 10x magnification. Sourced from the Volyn pegmatite chambers of Ukraine, where aquamarine occurs only as an exceptionally rare byproduct.
