A goshenite cut in a classic, flawlessly executed octagonal emerald step – a cut that rewards only the cleanest material, since every facet reflects straight through the stone with nowhere to hide an inclusion. Clarity is loupe clean, with no inclusions visible under 10x magnification. Goshenite, the colorless variety of beryl, is considerably rarer in the gem trade than its colored counterparts (aquamarine, heliodor, emerald), as most beryl crystals carry at least a trace of coloring element.
