This 0.64 carat round brilliant sapphire from Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, shows a deep, warm orange with a darker, almost amber core that radiates outward toward brighter orange at the crown's edge. The round brilliant cut is precisely executed, with crisp, evenly aligned facets and true optical symmetry – a genuinely uncommon achievement in sapphire, where the rough more often lends itself to elongated shapes and a round of this quality means real material was sacrificed in the cutting to reach ideal proportions. In hand the stone is exceptionally lively, throwing bright, even sparkle across the entire face as it moves, with strong light return from every facet.
