This 0.76 carat oval-cut sapphire hails from Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, the alluvial gem gravels that have produced some of the world's finest cornflower-blue corundum for generations. The color is a pure, saturated cornflower blue – the classic "royal" hue Ceylon material is prized for, with an even, velvety tone across the entire face-up view and no visible dark extinction at the culet. In hand the stone reads exceptionally lively: light travels cleanly through the pavilion and returns as strong, even brilliance across the whole oval, with none of the windowing or dead zones that flatter photographs but disappoint in person. Clarity is outstanding, with the stone eye-clean and the crystal showing excellent transparency edge to edge. The color is entirely natural, with no heat treatment applied, confirmed by the accompanying Marianovich Gems Certificate of Authenticity.
