Ruby

Gemologist’s Note
A near-two-carat Madagascar ruby with a strong GIA origin report — at 1.96 carats it has real size and presence, facing up like a full two-carat stone. The color is a bright, lively red that comes alive in the hand, catching light and movement across the face rather than sitting flat. GIA confirms Madagascar origin, one of the most important modern sources for fine ruby. Like most rubies, it has been heated, with only minor residues noted — heat is the oldest and most widely accepted of ruby treatments. The stone carries its natural character openly, and at this size, with GIA origin and lively color, it's a lot of ruby to build a piece around.
