Like the majority of rubies, it has been heated, with moderate residues noted in surface-reaching cavities by both labs; heat is the oldest and most widely accepted of ruby treatments. The color is a warm, full red, and the triangular outline makes it a distinctive choice for a custom design where a standard oval simply wouldn't do.
