Ruby

Gemologist’s Note
A substantial 3.35-carat natural ruby, and — importantly — unheated: GLC found no indication of heating, which on a ruby this size is genuinely uncommon, since most large rubies are heated to improve their color. At over three carats it has real presence, a bold cushion with a warm, saturated red color. The stone carries its natural inclusions openly — silk, growth features, and the untouched interior of a stone that was never subjected to heat; these are the honest fingerprints of a natural, untreated ruby rather than flaws to hide. Believed to be of Mozambique origin, a source known for rich, slightly warm reds. For a collector, an unheated ruby of this size is the real point of interest: what you see is entirely the stone's own, shaped by nothing but the earth.
