Sapphire

Gemologist’s Note
This 0.60 carat oval mixed-cut sapphire is a product of Ratnapura, Sri Lanka, cut from material that responded beautifully to conventional heat treatment – the classic, long-established process used throughout the trade to bring out a stone's full potential without altering its fundamental character. The result is a saturated, sultry pink with excellent even color distribution across the face-up view. In hand the stone is remarkably lively: light returns as constant, sparkling brilliance across the facets, with a juicy, saturated quality to the color that photographs only hint at. The stone reads clean and bright at every angle, with no dead spots or windowing. Weighing 5.00 x 4.15 x 3.30 mm, it carries an International Gemological Institute (IGI) Colored Gemstone Report confirming natural corundum with indications of conventional heating.
